Is Your Mindset Holding Your Restaurant Back??

2020 has been a tough year for restaurants.

Industry-wide, year-over-year sales are down over 25%.

However, in the midst of all the chaos, some restaurants are adapting and thriving during this pandemic.

Within the past two weeks, I’ve had the pleasure to learn from several of our clients who are seeing great success.

Here are a few examples:

True Grit Tavern in Arizona has converted into a grocery and liquor delivery service to supplement their takeout and delivery menu.

Red Cork Bistro in Washington is reeling in online orders through Date Night Take-Out Specials and Virtual Happy Hours.

Brothers BBQ in Colorado is seeing better numbers than they were last year AND catering meals for first line responders.

So what do these restaurants have in common that is leading each of them to success?

They are focusing on what they CAN do, rather than the obstacles in their way.

A business mentor of mine once told me, “Even when times are tough, your success depends not on your resources, but on your creativity.”

So...

Are you focusing on your restaurant’s strengths or worrying about your weaknesses?

If you’re only paying attention to things that are holding your restaurant back--like a closed dining room--I can guarantee that you will not move past them.

BUT if you are putting all of your attention towards your strengths and assets--i.e. Take-out, delivery, your great food, and your reliable staff--your restaurant will keep on running as strong as it has ever been.
Remember that these parts of your business are constant regardless of circumstance or the environment!

Bring attention to these strengths!

Remind your customers that you are still the same local business that they love to visit. Remind them how comfortable and happy they feel when they eat your food and share it with their family!

Now more than ever, it’s important to reach out to your community and re-establish yourself as a local staple.
